Programme Curriculum

This 12-week programme builds proficiency in strategic analysis and AI application across 10 modules, equipping you to assess markets, make evidence-based decisions, and apply strategic frameworks to real-world business challenges.

  • You’ll be introduced to your role as Head of Strategy for VoltEdge Motors and the core challenge: whether and how to expand into Southeast Asia. You’ll set up your workspace, prepare AI tools for use and review the frameworks that structure the course.

  • You’ll explore external influences on strategic decisions using PESTEL and Scenario Planning. You’ll apply these frameworks with AI tools to analyse market forces, identify uncertainties and generate plausible futures that inform VoltEdge’s strategic options.

  • You’ll deepen your analysis by examining Open Strategy and Porter’s Five Forces. Through case-based and AI-supported activities, you’ll explore how collaboration, transparency and competition shape strategic agility in fast-changing industries.

  • You’ll integrate your analysis to make confident strategic recommendations under pressure. You’ll test options using AI-assisted scenario modelling and practise communicating your decisions clearly and persuasively to senior stakeholders.

  • Congratulations and further reading

  • You’ll shift roles to act as a strategy consultant for GreenTrail, a sustainable outdoor-gear company balancing growth with purpose. You’ll examine GreenTrail’s brand identity, challenges and values as the foundation for a customer-centric strategy.

  • You’ll explore what it means to be truly customer-centric and apply the STP framework (Segmentation, Targeting, Positioning). Using AI tools, you’ll identify and test customer insights, analyse data for targeting and evaluate positioning options with ethical awareness.

  • You’ll examine how operations and strategy align through competitive priorities such as cost, quality, speed, flexibility and dependability. You’ll use AI as a thinking partner to evaluate trade-offs, determine strategic fit and prioritise decisions that drive alignment and value.

  • You’ll analyse the role of business in addressing global challenges and apply the Pick Your Battle framework to evaluate where GreenTrail can make the most meaningful difference. You’ll practise balancing commercial outcomes with social and environmental purpose.

  • Congratulations, further reading and programme evaluation

Demand For programme

Organisations today are making increasingly complex decisions amid economic uncertainty, technological disruption, evolving customer expectations and intensifying competition. For leaders responsible for growth and long-term value creation, navigating this complexity has become a critical business challenge.

At the same time, artificial intelligence is transforming how organisations gather information, analyse opportunities and evaluate strategic options. AI can accelerate analysis and surface insights, but it cannot replace the judgement required to interpret evidence, assess trade-offs and make sound strategic decisions.

As analysis becomes increasingly automated, strategic judgement is emerging as a key leadership advantage. This programme Oxford Saïd Business School's strategic expertise with practical applications of generative AI, enabling you to use AI as a thinking partner to evaluate opportunities, navigate uncertainty and make better-informed decisions.
